Ex!ms

Hey readers, seeders, leaders, meeders, another word that rhymes with readers-ers. How you guys been since my last post? Yeah well I've been busy studying and doing half of my exams and getting my yearbook signed (yeah I actually got it signed; I'm as surprised as you are!). But I'm here now, it's all that matters. And I've actually prepared beforehand for this post; I sat down and wrote what I was going to write about. I think I'm going to keep doing that because it's time saving (I literally just typed that sentence while looking at the TV which is behind me, it either means I have major skills with a keyboard or I gotta get out more :D). So let me give you an overview of what's coming in this post: Ex!ms, MMVA'S (Much Music Video Awards) and my trip to Russia.

Oh the dreaded Ex!ms (the reason I put the ! instead of an "a" is because while I was texting a friend I somehow managed to put mess the spelling up and write "Ex!m" instead of "Exam", plus it looks cooler :3 ). This time around I only had 6 exams, but now that I think about it I think I had the same amount when the first exams came around -___- great....................Anyways, the exams have so far been kind of easy, semi-hard. The math exam consisted of around 20 multiple choice questions, and the rest personal response. And on a completely different note; Lady Gaga just came out of a chrysalis, literally, yeah she's THAT weird. Back to the topic at hand, the exams. They weren't too hard and I enjoy them because after them you have the ENTIRE day to do whatever you want but be sure to leave around 3 or 4 hours to study depending on your mark. Usually after the exams I just go out with friends and play soccer or go swimming or just play a match of "League of Legends". Ok the exams, so basically after them I just chill and study for a little. After the exams we have 2 days: Results Day, and some other day like Results Day but it somehow different. On results day we get our exams back and all our marks. But sadly we don't get our report cards because they're mailing them out to our parents. Oh joy! My mom gets to hassle me before I even get a chance to explain, welcome to hell: population, me. But I don't expect to do THAT bad, but I'm not exactly expecting all 90's. Hopefully I'll manage to keep my average above an 85 or something like that, and what I hope for even more is that I'll keep it above a 90% or even a 94% because apparently my mom tells me that if you manage to do that any university IN THE WORLD will take you. It's not any secret program, it's just common sense. I mean come on, if your average is in the 95 percentile you have GOT to be smart enough and worked hard enough for a free scholarship. Or maybe that's just me that thinks so, but anyways that's my goal for the end of highschool: to have a 94% or higher average. Because come on, who REALLY wants to pay for a higher education?

So, it comes down to this. The awful and horrible MMVA's, why so horrible and terrible you ask? Well I'm not a big fan of 90% of the music they played there. ESPECIALLY not a big fan of Bieber, Fefe Dobson, Lady Gaga, Selena Gomez, a little bit of Bruno Mars, and the rest of their gang of music crushing awfulness. EXCEPT the "It ain't classy guy" cause I mean come on, that guy make some great beats AND lyrics, they're not STELLAR but they're good enough for me to listen to which means you should do. SO I'll be posting his vid up on the right side of your screen, and when you have time just click on it and embrace the wonder that is oh so "Classy". Anyways, the MMVA's. I'm not going to talk in detail about them but it's the same as ANY music awards show. Bieber is the heart throb, Danny Fernandez does a little comedy, Selena hosts and performs, and Lady Gaga.................is just Lady Gaga. Hey what can I say? She was born this way right? WRONG, NOBODY and I mean NOBODY can be born that way. Was she born sideways and dropped on a rock, at the same time? Because that's the ONLY way I see it for her. But besides that, the MMVA's are not made for hipsters like you and me, or maybe I'm the only hipster here. Hmm, a one man army, how fun? Besides that, I didn't enjoy them. Because for one it's ALL about popular vote and not what each individual thinks or wants. And all you know that the popular vote are 5 artists that I mentioned earlier and regular people with taste like me and you know that their music sucks, so I wasn't a big fan of the MMVA's nor will I ever be. I don't really have anything to say about them other than they sucked and that I didn't like them, it was like a Pop-apalooza out there, and too much of ANYTHING is NOT a good thing. Most of the Pop songs out there talk about getting lucky at the club, wanting a girl so bad you'd eat a grenade for her, and drinking all night. Is THIS what we want the next generation to remember us as? Mini Charlie Sheens doing 8 gram rocks AND Bi-Winning (although I accept the "Winning" I do not accept the 8-gram rocks, if you don't know what that is go ahead and Google it. I'm sure your results will be astonishing ;) But really? Are we going to let our kids listen to that crap? Yeah I SAID IT, it's crap! Those are NOT the lessons we want to teach our children and we don't want to be remembered for that. The 50's generations were remembered for racism, VERY cheap stuff, and their lunch bars with those nifty Juke Boxes. But we've moved past all that, all of them except racism unfortunately. The 60's generation was remembered for and still is for The Beatles, Elvis, overcoming racism, and good old fashioned Rock n' Roll. The 70's were remembered for hippies, weed, and all that Peace stuffs. But we've ALL moved past that. Well maybe some of us choose to straggle a little behind the time period like the Hipsters. But that doesn't matter, what matters is how in the hell are we going to move past Bieber and Hannah Montana? Are we just going to ignore it like it never happened? Just like how the directors of "The Dark Knight" just ignore the first few Batman moves which were more like comedies. So how ARE we going to purge the music industry and most importantly OURSELVES from this fever? And now that I look back at what I've written I see that I've gotten WAAAY off topic, but maybe that's the way it should be. But whatever, I guess it's time to move onto another topic then.

So today is a big day for me, cause today I'm taking my trip to Russia. A 10 hour flight sitting beside a window. I'm probably just going to read, play with my PSP and iPod, and of course eat! Once I get there I'll have a plethora of Canadian souvenirs for all my relatives there and they'll have a plethora of events planned for us. It is definitely going to be a memorable experience for all of us. I'll try to upload pictures and write blog posts on here for a little while, but most of the time I'll probably be travelling and doing all sorts of things. Don't you just love to travel in airplanes? It's the most chill way to travel, cars are too bumpy and noisy along with buses. You just sit back for 10 hours with a movie sometimes, some music, and an occasional snack and a fantastic view! I know I can't ask for anything more than that. But what I do hate is the long drive to the airport, the damn security measures, and sometimes the long wait at your gate for your plane. But maybe it's all worth it in the end, I guess I'll find out today. SO anyways, I gotta go prep for my flight. Don't worry, I packed already. I just need to get all the little things ready for just in case situations and eat before I leave. If you could be so kind as to read my older posts for every day that I don't write a new post it'll help you understand how I started out. SO I'll see you guys later, and by later I mean in 24 hours or later. In the mean time: read it, learn it, live it, love it, and post it!

Cheers, MarkL

Negativity Trip...........

Hey guys, so if you could just please ignore my last post. I realized that I was just in a bad mood, and mixing that with a blogpost isn's the greatest of combinations. Just like 13 Aspirins, in a row, it'll be your last headache you'll ever have :D So anyways, I was just in a bad mood and I was tires. It was like 11:37 or something when I wrote it. At that point I wasn't aiming for a golden post like always, it was more like a what're I write is whatever I write post. I'll try my best to write more of my golden posts like this one, but it's hard to juggle everything else I have: friends. Yes, that 7 letter word my social life isn't too familiar with :) I've actually gone out with my friends more nowadays and done a lot of stuff which I'll talk about in this post.

My fellow readers, I openly apologize to the music industry. In my previous posts I trash-talked the Black Eyed Peas saying their new music sucks. But now I hate myself for thinking that way. Because I realized something new, something that changed the way I think now. I downloaded their latest albums (The E.N.D. And The Beginning) and I listened to both of them carefully. I have to say, that not ALL of their songs are terrible in that album. What I realized was that their CONSISTENCY in good quality music has hanged but they are still the HipHop kings I have always known them to be and they come out with a good music every now and then. Like their song "One Tribe" from their album The E.N.D. it has a very tribal feel to it. The lyrics talk about unity, humanity uniting as one and forgetting our differences and accepting everyone for who they are. And it talks about forgetting all the evil in the world and casting amnesia on all the negativity. It also talks about how we are connected towards one goal we all have to work for in the end. To me that is a VERY strong message and I suggest you go listen to it. Here's another song that I enjoyed listening to from their The Beginning album, "Someday". The lyrics talk about how someday we'll all figure out who we are, maybe tonight, and how we know it'll happen one day we just don't know exactly WHEN it'll happen. And how as we work harder we get closer to figuring out who we want to become one day. That message is also VERY close to me and almost speaks to me because I'm at the point of my life where I have to figure things out before it's too late. And by things I mean my life, that is NOT one of the easiest things to do. Ok here's my last Black Eyed Peas song for today also from their album The Beginning, "Own It". The lyrics talk about how everyone is a star no matter who they are, we should reach for our dreams for no matter what, the world needs dreamers and believers and big achievers to keep reaching for their dreams, this is our chance to make a difference in the world, having doubts about our future. And it's ALL true. No matter who you are, YOU ARE A STAR IN YOUR OWN WAY. I have my own dreams and talents and aspirations. I blog, dance, sing, write lyrics, blog, and make my own music. I aspire to become something greater than what I am today, I want to change the world. Because I'm a dreamer, I'm a believer, a tomorrow leader, I've been dreaming all my life and this is my chance. And no matter who you are, you could have similar or different dreams and you should chase them. Because that's the point of dreams, to give us hope and get us through the tough times. But when we achieve our dreams it's even greater than we can imagine because that little idea came into reality, all because of 1 idea. The point is, you should NEVER, and I mean NEVER judge ANYTHING by assuming what you don't know because it may be one of the worst mistakes you'll ever make, I know I made a HUGE mistake assuming the Black Eyed Peas sucked because I found empowering themes in their music.

Have you ever had a great idea for an invention or an innovation (whatever that is)? Well I sure as hell have!!! Multiple times actually, I just never bothered to share them. Or I have, and I just forgot about it all. Anyways, this is a refresher of all the ideas I've ever had for inventions. The first one that comes to my head is a tooth machine. One day, I asked my mom what toenails are made of and she responded with "Calcium" and I asked her "Aren't teeth made out of Calcium too?" and she said yes. This instantly got gears working in my head and I conjured up an idea. Imagine this, a machine that converts nails into teeth for dentists or any other professions that deals with this. Now I can already see 1 fault unfortunately, I'm sure that the compound in nails isn't the same compound as teeth, but I'm sure I can figure out how to add special chemicals to it when it is being transformed into teeth. And this also solves another fault I found, I'm pretty sure teeth aren't ONLY made of calcium. But even so there has to be a process for all this and precautions and years of research to be done. Well I might as well get started :D but that's just 1 idea. I had another idea that concerns the environment. You know those revolving doors in big office buildings? Well why can't you attach an electricity generator to that and as it spins it creates electricity? Imagine putting one of those things in a busy New York subway or the Trump Tower. I understand that if you don't have enough doors then the entire operation will never pay for itself. Well why not j stall the same idea on normal doors? I guess when you open it it would either compress air to move a turbine or something like that and make sure that these installments are only added in big building where this will actually generate electricity for the building. Here's another idea, Airplanes have a small electricity generator at their tail that turns in the wind as the Airplane flies. Well why can't we put these on cars or subways? And don't just put 1 big one on a car, try putting more small ones that will cover more ground (or air). Unless they were SUPER cheap or efficiently made then that's an already accounted for fault. And here's another fault: vandals. They can just comer and rip it off your car or even Subway car. But maybe there can be a flip compartment that rotates the turbines so that they're on the outside of your vehicle when you start it up. But those are just m ideas. If you want just post your own in the comments.

I guess that's it for today guys. It's almost one of my "golden" posts. Oh and I wanted to talk to you about my last post. I lost sight of why I started this blog, to have my voice be heard and have people comments on it and give me their opinions so that I can see the world differently. And thanks to some of you I do see the world differently. Thanks to DunFX for inspiring me to write my own music and walk in his footsteps. Thanks to the BEP's for teaching me life lessons through music I couldn't have learned otherwise. I thanks my Asian friend that sent me his essay long opinion about society today and how it should be because now I understand how he thinks. And I thank everyone else that has made my life better ever since I started this blog. But yesterday I lost sight of all that. I began to think of how nobody responds to my posts and how nobody cares. But you know what? I don't care about that. Because I'm helping myself by writing these posts, the least you can do to help yourself is to give me your opinion on my posts and help me see how you see or something like that. Because in the end we ALL benefit from this no matter who you be. And sadly I lost sight of that yesterday, and I am deeply sorry that I did. Going back go why I started this blog, in the beginning I understood how important it is to have freedom of speech and I still do but only because I went to Don Mills and went through what I went through and I love that I went through all that. Because now, I don't take my opinion for granted because I am in an environment where all voices are accepted but the others don't see that because they didn't go through I went through and don't understand what I understand. And I love that I'm one of the only people that understand that's because that's what makes me, well, me. But I will do my best to never forget that and never forget why I started this blog. Not to get famous or views, but to let my voice be heard. And you know what? I'm glad I take an hour out of my week to write these posts because in the end I feel better because I have expressed my feelings on a page that will always be there til the end of time for everyone to see. Anyways, it's time for my signature sign-off. Until next time: Read it, learn it, live it, love it, and post it!

Cheers, MarkL

SO many things.........

Hello guys, how have you been? Or how have you been, my 1 viewer that has refreshed this page around 3662 times consistently, boy I hope I'm wrong with that one. Anyways, I haven't had a post in a LOOONG time and it's about that time of the week again (insert unnecessary dirty joke here). A lot of things have happened since my last post. So you can probably guess that this post is going to contain it all, yeah it's gonna be VERY long. SO let the reading begin.

FIrst, I'd like to talk about how busy I've been. This time of year at NT we have stuff that is called "Summatives" oh and 'Exams" which most of you have. Summatives are just basically project that "Summ" everything up from the year, I have no idea where the "atives" part comes in, let me know when you find out. So we have a summative in almost all classes, incluidng: English, Geography, Art, French, Science, and Music. Yeah, that's A LOT of work, and some of them have to be done in class and others don't. But happily, I've finished ALL of them except Science which should be due any day now, or it was already due and I handed it in without even knowing which I hope is more likely. And for some reason, I don't even feel like I accomplished something, because I don't feel like I was challenged in any way with these projects. It's either something that I'm going through, which I have no idea, or I just didn't accomplish anything. But whatever, I'll figure it all out soon enough, or I hope I will. Anyways, yeah I guess this is it. I mean the end of the year, projects are over, movies are running in class rooms, nothing is being learned, ahh sweet sweet victory (yes that is a Spongebob and a song reference in one, you're welcome). So what are your plans for this summer? Me? I'm going to Russia to visit my parents and relatives and write some music in the middle of it all. It's not a BIG plan but it's a plan allright. Just tell me your plans for this summer in the comments if you can. Next topic shall we? Oh and I know it's a short paragraph, but I can't really think of anything else. Oh and Vancouver just won 1-0 against Boston, GO CANUCKS!!!!!!!!!!

Something REALLY big and significant to me, ABDC (America's Best Dance Crew) Season 6 came to a close, and this is my review of it. In the beginning of every season there is ALWAYS a crew that brings something new to the game, this time it was : Street Kingdom with their crumping, I aM mE with their "Brain Bangs", and Phunk Phenomenon with their awesome choreo. For every season the crew that brings the best new dance style that nobody has ever seen always wins. Jabbawockeez for their smooth flow, Super Cr3w for their athletics, Quest Crew for their B-boy style, Poreotics for their robotic moves, and most recently I aM mE for their "Brain Bangs". And all these crews deserve to win because they bring something new to the dancefloor, an unseen style that is always evolving and changing as they continue their performances on ABDC. And that's what the show is about, bringing something new to the floor. That's because dance is evolving each and every day just like art and music. Which is really cool if you think about it. But to me, I don't think that Iconic Boyz should've won for many reasons. For 1, theyre all 8-12 which is the age of when school is one of the most important things in your life, and missing it for ABDC doesn't seme worth it to me. I understand that they can be homeschooled or something but it's not the same as school. And 2, they don't take it as seriously as the other crews because they don't work as hard and almost all their votes came from girls that think they're hot/cute, which isn't why they should've been voted for. So to me, I think that I aM mE deserved to win because they're a top crew and now they're up there as Season 6 Champions.

Look, ummm. I haven't written a lot because for some reason these days I don't feel like writing. Maybe it's just a phase, which is what I'm hoping for, but I'm just losing the will to write. I mean, I don't get any response from you guys, which means that nobody is reading this, or if they are they just don't care enough to comment which isn't that hard. But the bottom line is, if you guys want more posts I can't do it all by myself, I made pages for you guys to put your stuff up on and only 2 people have responded. 2 people in 3 months, that's just embarassing for you guys. WIthout any public support I just don't see how anybody cares about these posts anymore. Maybe I'm overreacting, but then again maybe I'm not. But it sure as hell doesn't take a lont time to write 1 measly comment that would make my day. I just need to figure things out. For now you know what to do.

Cheers, MarkL
